Requests for emergency food are skyrocketing to record levels throughout Oregon and Clark County, Wash.
According to the Oregon Food Bank Network’s first-quarter reports (July 1-Sept. 30, 2008), distribution of emergency food boxes increased 13 percent in Oregon and 8 percent in Clark County, Wash., compared to the same period in 2007. In some parts of the state, distribution has increased more than 40 percent.
