| newsletter format and buying local | November 13, 2008 @ 3:10pm | wanted to let people know that the newsletter had a wonk in it that i did not catch, and if they want to see an "unwonky newsletter" they can see it in the news archives....oops! On another note, I am way over here in Auckland, New Zealand and I am learning more about co-ops around the globe and about "support local" ideals.
New Zealand is very "kiwi-centric", and they advertise their pride in local goods a lot. I think it is something that each region in the US could promote even more than just the national ideal of "made in USA". I personally am pretty darn proud of being from the PAC NW, and I do my utmost to get goods from my bio-region.
I would love to know if any of you have "gone local", or have always been a local first buyer. Oh, and why you are of course! |
