Cooperatives are member-owned, member-controlled entities, based on the principles of autonomy and independence, education and training, and community concern.  Cooperative organization of businesses is an old arrangement that continues to work well today.  Recent economic changes have more and more individuals turning to organizing their work around cooperative principles, and establishing them in legal cooperative structures.
